SENSE – A DIFFERENT ASPECT OF PERFECTIONSense is a collaborative itinerant exhibition taking place across London based Coffee Shops and culminating in a showcase and auction to fundraise for the association SeeAbility and create awareness about blindness. SeeAbility is a specialist registered charity supporting people with multiple disabilities, including visual impairment, learning and physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, acquired brain injury and life limiting conditions. Driving the Sense initiative is artist and designer Jolie who creates 12 unique frames based on the words of her collaborators, all visually impaired people involved with the association SeeAbility. She asks the meaning of Beauty, Pain and Art questioning the significance of those everyday words. Do we express pain in the same way? What is Beauty when it cannot be defined by what we see? How do we perceive art through touch, smell, taste and hearing? Every week from June onwards, a frame is hung in a Coffee Shop.
